Position Overview

Arms Acres Inc. is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to deliver exceptional healthcare services. In this capacity, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care under the supervision of the Medical Director.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2pm to 10:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, performing detailed physical assessments and gathering comprehensive medical histories.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and laboratory studies, to identify any abnormalities.
  • Execute therapeutic interventions such as administering injections, immunizations, and performing necessary examinations and wound care.
  • Formulate and execute patient management strategies, document progress notes, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients regarding treatment adherence, health maintenance, and emotional well-being, including discharge planning and follow-up care.
  • Engage in case discussions, treatment team meetings, and contribute to educational initiatives for both staff and patients.
  • Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, psychiatric professionals, dietitians, and other members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess a diploma from an accredited Physician Assistant program, hold a NY State Certificate for Physician Assistant, and have RPAC certification or relevant experience in detoxification, addiction medicine, or primary care. Experience in psychiatry is highly valued.
