Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist licensed physical therapists in assessing patient conditions, formulating treatment strategies, and monitoring progress.
  • Support the execution of therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities as per established treatment protocols.
  • Document and observe patients' reactions to treatments, noting advancements and making necessary modifications under the supervision of the licensed physical therapist.
  • Help patients with mobility exercises, transfers, and gait training to enhance motor function and overall physical health.
  • Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for exercises and activities to be performed both in the clinic and at home.
  • Administer modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation as directed by the physical therapist.
  • Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment, ensuring all equipment is in proper working order.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date patient records, treatment plans, and progress reports in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with the physical therapy team to discuss patient progress, treatment modifications, and potential challenges.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for professional development by staying informed about the latest trends and advancements in physical therapy.
Qualifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) training
  • Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant
  • Active and unencumbered Physical Therapy Assistant license in Minnesota
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Associate Degree program
Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required:
  • Maintains and enhances clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Demonstrates commitment to providing the highest level of patient care and service excellence.
  • Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude is essential, with the ability to work independently and interact effectively with physicians, managers, and staff across the department.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks.
Requirements:
