Job Summary

Woodland Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery nurse for a travel contract. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery and hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN, and CA License.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in Labor and Delivery, including routine labor and delivery care, as well as care for patients with complex medical needs.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient unit operations.
  • Participate in unit-specific initiatives to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
  • Active BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN, and CA License.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Unit Information
  • Ratios: 1:2 L&D, 1:1 delivery, 1:4 couplets Mother Baby.
  • EMR: Cerner.
  • Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief.
  • Nurse Aides: Yes as census and staffing dictates.
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
  • Holidays: Rotate in with core staff.
  • Scrub Color: Provided.
  • Tele: No.
  • Vents: No.
  • IV Team: No.
  • RT 24/7: Yes.
  • Pharmacy 24/7: Yes.
  • Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.
  • Floor specific orientation: 1-2 days on the floor with preceptor.
  • Common diagnosis/types of patients: Standard labor patients.
Additional Details
  • Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's).
  • Unit managers will make the final call on scheduling.
  • Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed.
  • Modules are required to be done before start of assignment.
  • Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete-this time is not billable.
