Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead significant IT initiatives, including the rollout of new systems and services.
  • Evaluate the performance of IT systems to assess cost-effectiveness and productivity, making recommendations for enhancements.
  • Establish and execute business continuity plans to mitigate disruptions during emergencies or data loss.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business needs and develop appropriate IT solutions.
  • Assess technology vendors and create testing strategies for new hardware and software.
  • Resolve hardware and software challenges efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in IT operations.
  • Proven experience in leading large IT projects and implementing IT infrastructures across various technologies.

Importance of the Role: The IT Manager is vital to Alsum Farms & Produce, ensuring our technology infrastructure runs smoothly, protecting our information systems, and fostering innovation through strategic IT solutions.

Job Details:

Type: Regular Full-Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, with potential on-call duties and special projects outside regular hours.

Travel: Minimal, with occasional visits to farm locations.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking, software, and programming.
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Project management skills with a strong ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Effective communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.
  • Experience with SQL and database management is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Business Central.
  • Supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working collaboratively.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Ability to utilize HRIS software at both user and supervisory levels.
  • Valid state motor vehicle license with a satisfactory driving record.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Good manual dexterity for performing required tasks.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Compliance with safety regulations, including wearing protective gear in designated areas.
