Job Summary

As a Behavioral Support Specialist, you will work under the direction of school administration and/or BCBA to provide individualized support to students with challenging behaviors. Your responsibilities will include responding to novel situations, providing 1:1 support, and implementing skill-acquisition and behavior support plans. You will also collect data and conduct assessments as needed.

Requirements

Possess valid Registered Behavior Technician certification
Possess or obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment
High school diploma or equivalent, and one of the following: completion of 48 college semester units or completion of a district-approved proficiency test in reading, writing, and mathematics

Responsibilities

Respond to novel situations to support students and staff during behavior escalations or crisis behaviors
Provide 1:1 support to students
Implement skill-acquisition and behavior support plans developed by the clinical supervisor and in collaboration with the classroom teacher
Collect data and conduct assessments as needed

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to novel situations. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to provide support to students and staff.
