POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Retail Sales Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring guest satisfaction and delivering outstanding customer service by engaging with guests and proactively addressing their needs. This position encompasses the management of inventory, processing shipments, and facilitating sales transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage sales operations, restock merchandise, and price items within the retail environment.
  • Receive and process deliveries of various products, including food items, beverages, souvenirs, and decorative goods for a bustling retail space.
  • Organize, stock, and label incoming merchandise efficiently.
  • Prepare and manage outgoing shipments, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Assist in maintaining the retail area, including cashier duties and staff breaks.
  • Handle all monetary transactions accurately, ensuring correct payment is received for each sale.
  • Unpack and verify incoming products, tagging and displaying new inventory while updating product arrangements as necessary.
  • Carefully package merchandise for shipping and maintain accurate shipping records.
  • Uphold a welcoming atmosphere on the sales floor while ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Strive creatively and diligently to meet and exceed sales and profit targets.
  • Participate in regular inventory assessments.
  • Attend scheduled training sessions and assist with promotional activities as required.
  • Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Organize and arrange products effectively.
  • Package orders for shipping with care.
  • Maintain a tidy workspace to comply with safety standards.
  • Adhere to established safety protocols in all tasks.
  • Candidates will be required to obtain necessary certifications.
  • Cross-training in various warehouse functions will be provided.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Further training and education are advantageous.

EXPERIENCE:

Prior experience in cash handling is essential. Experience in a high-volume retail environment is preferred. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, is necessary.

CERTIFICATIONS:

Must be able to obtain relevant health and safety certifications.

OTHER SKILLS:

Effective communication skills with the public and team members are essential.
