Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Associate Attorney to join our esteemed legal team in Long Island. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney who is passionate about civil litigation and trials, and wishes to contribute and grow in a stimulating and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of civil litigation from inception to conclusion, ensuring high-quality representation for clients.
  • Represent clients in court or before government agencies, utilizing excellent negotiation and research skills.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to advise clients on their legal rights and obligations, providing expert guidance throughout the process.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts, with attention to detail and precision.
  • Handle trials and hearings, take depositions, argue motions, and meet with judges to discuss the merits of the case, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases, showcasing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Negotiate settlements in civil litigation cases, working closely with clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses, providing clear and concise explanations.
  • Maintain client relationships and work with team members to ensure a high level of client satisfaction, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing with the state bar.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in civil litigation and trials.
  • Proven background in litigation and court procedures.
  • Excellent negotiation, research, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficient in legal research software and MS Office.
