Job Description

Swift Straw is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Class A CDL driver to transport pine straw throughout our network. The role will be based out of our Clio, AL location.

As a Truck Cor driver, you will be responsible for transporting pine straw using van trailers between various supply locations and customers across Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate deliveries of pine straw to customers.
  • Perform comprehensive pre- and post-trip inspections of all trailers, maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs and demonstrate proficiency with ELD systems.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trailers when necessary.
  • Report safety discrepancies and strictly adhere to DOT regulations regarding safe driving practices, vehicle inspection, and maintenance.
  • Transport pine straw efficiently throughout the designated service areas, contributing to the overall success of our operations.
  • Work with minimal supervision, demonstrating a high level of professionalism, energy, and self-motivation.
  • Obey all applicable traffic laws and adjust driving practices in inclement weather, prioritizing responsible driving and safety.
  • Utilize GPS and other routing technologies effectively, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years recent Class A experience.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and self-motivated approach, consistently aligning with Swift Straw's Core Values.
  • Capable of working independently with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.
  • Show proficiency in safe and defensive driving techniques.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Have a strong understanding of the local and regional areas we serve.
  • Hold a valid commercial driver's license and a current medical card/physical.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat, stand, and climb as required.
  • Successfully complete a company-paid pre-hire drug screen.
