Job Summary

As a Merchandise Associate at HomeGoods, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional customer experience by embodying our customer experience principles and philosophy. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, adhering to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards, and supporting the growth of your career through cross-training and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by engaging and interacting with all customers, responding to their needs, and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Accurately ring customer purchases/returns and count change back to the customer according to established operating procedures.
  • Promote credit and loyalty programs to customers, encouraging them to take advantage of our rewards and benefits.
  • Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards to ensure a visually appealing and well-organized store environment.
  • Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards, ensuring that products are accurately priced and displayed.
  • Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day, maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  • Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment, adhering to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve our goals.
Requirements
  • Possess excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Possess strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation, and working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Retail customer experience preferred, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.

This position has a starting pay range of $16.28 to $16.78 per hour. The full range of the position is $16.28 to $20.90 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
