Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Director to lead our front-of-house operations at Local Roots & Provisions. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as strong supervisory and leadership abilities.

About Us:

Local Roots & Provisions is a chef-driven, southern-inspired restaurant with a focus on local ingredients. Our menu features robust flavors from the best local vendors and producers. Head Chef Wes Spainhour has over 15 years of restaurant industry experience and brings a unique flair to the menu, drawing inspiration from city-based restaurants and rooting the flavors in Lincolnton.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by making sure staff is prepared, on task and motivated to provide the best customer service possible.
  • Establish and maintain a smooth line of communication between the kitchen and the servers.
  • Responsible for interviewing, training and disciplining staff through strong managerial and leadership skills.
  • Responsible for labor management.
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity.
  • Responsible for cash transactions including refunding customers, providing discounts, comping items, opening and closing cash drawers and cashing servers out at the end of each service.
  • Manage reservations for dining room and private dining room, as well as checking restaurant voicemail each day.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
Requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with restaurant management software/Point-of-Sale systems, preferably Toast.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years' experience working in the restaurant industry in a supervisory role.
Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $50,000 - $60,000, depending on experience.
