Role Overview:
The Cardiac Catheterization Radiology Technologist is responsible for conducting advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures within the cardiac catheterization lab. This role includes:
- Preparing patients and equipment for procedures, including site preparation, patient draping, and instrument arrangement.
- Ensuring high-quality x-ray images and maintaining all related equipment.
- Attending to patient needs throughout the procedures.
- Circulating and scrubbing during procedures as necessary, assisting physicians with catheter navigation.
- Monitoring and documenting hemodynamic, electrical, and angiographic data using specialized equipment.
- Participating in critical life-saving measures, including defibrillation and CPR.
- Contributing to patient transport to nursing units.
- Maintaining adequate stock and preparation of the cardiac lab procedure rooms.
- Exhibiting professional competencies relevant to the assigned unit or department.
- Communicating effectively with the care team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree in Radiology or completion of a certification program in Radiography.
Licensure: Current ARRT (R) certification and a valid Radiologic Technologist license from the State of Indiana are required.
