Job Summary

Fetter Health Care Network Inc is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting, labeling, and preparing blood specimens for patient testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood specimens from patients by performing venipunctures and finger sticks.
  • Verify patient information and test requisitions to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique and following department procedures.
  • Track collected specimens and maintain daily tallies of collections performed.
  • Monitor glucose levels and perform bleeding-time tests as required.
  • Resolve unusual test orders by contacting physicians, pathologists, or nursing stations.
  • Attend department meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Phlebotomy or Certified Medical Assistant program required.
  • At least one year experience working in a hospital or doctor's office.
  • Experience with Pediatrics patients and performing waived lab testing.
  • National certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bi-lingual candidates are desirable.
