Fetter Health Care Network Inc is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting, labeling, and preparing blood specimens for patient testing.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood specimens from patients by performing venipunctures and finger sticks.
- Verify patient information and test requisitions to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique and following department procedures.
- Track collected specimens and maintain daily tallies of collections performed.
- Monitor glucose levels and perform bleeding-time tests as required.
- Resolve unusual test orders by contacting physicians, pathologists, or nursing stations.
- Attend department meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- High school diploma required.
- Successful completion of an accredited Phlebotomy or Certified Medical Assistant program required.
- At least one year experience working in a hospital or doctor's office.
- Experience with Pediatrics patients and performing waived lab testing.
- National certification preferred.
- Bi-lingual candidates are desirable.
