Transform Healthcare as a Team Lead

Serve as a clinical resource person, role model, coach, and facilitator for staff and department operations. Lead your work group, resolve routine issues, and create a positive, productive, and fiscally responsible work unit. Stay aware of organization developments and initiatives that can benefit your team. Refer complex or potentially significant issues to your manager or director, including compensation, work hours, working conditions, hiring, and formal corrective action. Initiate and facilitate effective open two-way communication and resolution of work site operational issues that support service area goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimum patient outcomes.
  • Utilize leadership principles to mobilize the patient care team and achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Assist managers in ensuring staff competence and contribute to staff performance development.
  • Identify areas of improvement and have input into the manager's developmental plan for each team member.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations by regular coaching and giving feedback on performance.
  • Assist with and/or prepare work schedules for the department or work group, ensuring adequate coverage, equitable treatment of staff, and controls work hours.
  • Collaborate with management regarding fiscal management, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and maintaining staffing levels in accordance with financial targets.
  • Conduct individual and/or team meetings with your work group, ensuring effective two-way communication, resolving items brought to your attention, and following up with team members and management on issues.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing from an accredited college.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical discipline preferred, one year required with demonstrated clinical and leadership expertise.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
  • BSN preferred, obtain CPR, and as needed ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications.
  • Computer skills required for electronic medical records (EPIC).
