Job Description

This position offers the opportunity to lead our Engineering Department, ensuring the property operates smoothly, is well-maintained, and meets the highest standards of guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations, team scheduling, and task assignments.
  • Train, supervise, and motivate the engineering team to meet operational goals and maintain high standards.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, provide coaching, and enforce company policies to ensure team excellence.
  • Manage all maintenance activities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and pool operations.
  • Respond to and resolve guest room maintenance requests promptly.
  • Maintain and update preventative maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and certifications, including fire safety systems, smoke alarms, and extinguishers.
  • Conduct safety training for staff and oversee fire drills and emergency preparedness.
  • Serve as the emergency contact for engineering-related issues.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, controlling expenses, and conserving energy.
  • Coordinate vendor contracts, review bids, and supervise contractor work to ensure quality and adherence to budget.
  • Maintain records, including accounting procedures, operational manuals, warranty agreements, and safety documentation.
  • Conduct daily property tours, inspecting rooms, public areas, and the hotel's exterior for cleanliness, maintenance issues, and safety concerns.
  • Ensure all work by staff and contractors is completed to company standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Actively address guest concerns related to engineering and maintenance promptly and courteously.
  • Maintain proper inventory of tools, supplies, and parts.
  • Establish and maintain a key control system for the property.
  • Actively participate in all-employee meetings and provide necessary departmental training.
