About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Palliative Care Nurse to join our Hospice Unit team at Alto Health Care Staffing. As a Palliative Care Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals and their families during the end-of-life journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social needs
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to address patients' needs and goals
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Provide emotional support and comfort care to patients and their families
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Participate in unit-specific training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in end-of-life care and symptom management
Requirements
  • Active Wisconsin nursing license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • EPIC, lifts/veiling lifts, pyxis, R5 call light systems, Dinamaps, decentralized Telemetry, API scheduling, Healthstream education experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessment skills
  • IV therapy and oxygen therapy experience
  • Pain management and anxiety management skills
  • Psychosocial skills and TLC for patients and families in distress
Work Environment

Our Hospice Unit is a 14-bed acute care setting that provides general inpatient care for palliative and hospice patients, as well as medical and surgical overflow patients. Our goal is to support patients in returning to a home setting.

What We Offer
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 3-4 days, 4-5 pm, 6-7 nights
  • Dress code: nursing uniform and comfortable shoes
