Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Dietitian I to join our team at PeaceHealth. As a key member of our Nutrition Services team, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of nutrition care, consulting with other healthcare professionals as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement nutrition care plans for patients, utilizing evidence-based practice guidelines and the Nutrition Care Process.
  • Provide nutrition education to patients and families in outpatient and inpatient settings, using a variety of teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and participate in interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Document patient information and outcomes in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), adhering to policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Make referrals to other services, agencies, and community resources as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field of study, with a focus on nutrition or a related field.
  • Successful completion of an AND-approved internship/training program.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) certification, with the ability to pass the registration exam within 90 days of hire.
  • May require Certified Dietitian - Washington (CD-W) certification for outpatient dietitians in Washington state.
  • Current Medicare provider status number, if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated skill in teaching adults and pediatrics of varying competency levels.
  • Ability to design, implement, and evaluate instructional materials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, including MS Office applications.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent moving around the work area, frequent grasping and reaching, and occasional squatting, kneeling, and bending. The ability to lift up to 10 pounds is also required.
