GIS Specialist

As a GIS Specialist in the Engineering Division of Ogden City Corporation, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) that support the permitting process. This position requires a strong understanding of GIS principles, computer operations, and database management.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop applications relevant to the needs of the Engineering Division
• Conduct quality assurance procedures on data used in specific application programs
• Monitor information for accuracy and recommend changes for improvement
• Utilize various software and hardware to develop systems to compile, maintain, retrieve, and analyze GIS coverage features and records
Requirements
• Two years of work-related experience in computer operations in GIS, or two years of education and/or experience in a GIS area or related field
• Demonstrated ability to operate programmable calculators, computers, workstations, digitizing tools, and plotters
• Ability to communicate with co-workers, supervisors, other agencies, and the general public under a variety of circumstances
