Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Prepared Foods Team Lead to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our prepared foods team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team, driving sales growth, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of prepared foods team members, providing coaching, training, and feedback to ensure excellent customer service and sales results.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our products, including ingredients, preparation methods, and nutritional information, to effectively communicate with customers and team members.
  • Work closely with the team leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets, analyzing sales data and making recommendations to improve performance.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking of prepared foods products, to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize waste.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating prices and terms to ensure the best possible value for our customers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to customer needs and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Stay up-to-date on company policies, procedures, and initiatives, communicating changes and updates to the team as needed.
Requirements
  • 18+ months retail team member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze sales data and make recommendations to improve performance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
  • May require use of ladders.

The wage range for this position is $27.53 hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits". Whole Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan benefits, eligibility for a store discount, paid time off and access to other benefit programs. Eligibility for Whole Benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable Whole Benefits plan at a person's date of hire.
