The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. The RN prepares equipment and assists physicians during examinations and treatments. The RN administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs. The RN observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.
Key Responsibilities- Participate as primary nurse, associate nurse, team member, or team leader in the planning and implementing of patient care.
- Direct and assist in carrying out safe aseptic technique and procedures.
- Offer leadership and direction to all support staff within the department.
CHRISTUS Health is a Catholic health ministry that provides comprehensive medical and surgical services, including pediatrics, obstetrics, skilled nursing, emergency and intensive care, as well as cardiac and comprehensive services. Our mission is to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
Requirements- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Able to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- One-year experience in nursing preferred.
- Critical care or acute care experience preferred.
- Current Texas State RN License.
- CPR (American Heart Association).
- ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer date.
- PALS required within 18 months of hire/transfer date.
- TNCC required within 18 months of hire/transfer date.
- NIHSS required within 90 days of hire/transfer date.
