CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline is a leading acute care medical facility, offering a comprehensive array of diagnostic and surgical specialty services, particularly in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. It stands as the primary emergency facility in the region and is recognized as the only Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed by healthcare professionals trained in emergency services.

Key Responsibilities:


• Adheres to the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

• Conducts a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, some of which are complex, utilizing advanced computerized MRI imaging technology.

• Demonstrates proficiency in MRI examinations, procedures, and the operation of pressurized injection equipment.

• Assists Radiologists in invasive and biopsy procedures using MRI technology to accurately locate anatomical structures.

• After completing procedures, the specialist programs the system to ensure the exam is finalized and all imaging data is accurately stored for future reference.

• Organizes and prioritizes tasks throughout the workday to maintain high standards of patient care and continuity.

• Ensures accurate coding and entry of all charges in the billing system.

• Maintains competence across all age groups to ensure proper completion of imaging studies.

• Adapts patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and developmental needs of each patient.

• Complies with all policies, procedures, and standards set forth by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory bodies.

• Conducts all duties in a manner that safeguards patient confidentiality and refrains from disclosing any confidential information unless necessary for job performance.

• Basic computer skills are required.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Excellent customer service skills are mandatory.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an AMA accredited School of Radiological Sciences or an equivalent program is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or clinical environment is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in a clinical imaging setting is highly preferred.
  • Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) from ARRT or ARMRIT is preferred.
  • Current state licensure is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
