Custodial Associate

Position Overview:
The role involves supporting the upkeep of a clean, secure, and healthy atmosphere within University facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering custodial services across various areas including:
- Classrooms
- Offices
- Research laboratories
- Public areas
- Build rapport with occupants and address their requests.
- Manage building access by locking and unlocking designated areas as per departmental schedules.
- Respond to campus emergencies to promote public safety and mitigate infrastructure damage.
Work Schedule:
- Sunday to Thursday, 10 PM to 6:30 AM
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $15.00 plus an additional $0.45 for shift differential.
Qualifications:
- Completion of onboarding training or enrollment in the program within 90 days of hire.
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and understanding English for effective communication.
- Basic mathematical skills and strong organizational abilities.
- Capability to learn and operate both powered and non-powered floor care equipment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment as necessary.
- Physical capability to lift and carry weights ranging from 25 to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally.
- Willingness to work outdoors 10% of the time in varying temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of general work experience.
- A valid driver's license from the US or Canada.
