We are seeking a skilled Clinical Coding Specialist to join our team at Aspirus Inc.

About the Job:

We are looking for an experienced Professional Fee Coder who can work at any Aspirus facility or remotely. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing professional service charges, including verification of CPT and ICD codes from route slips and posting charges. They may also process technical component charges in compliance with Provider Based Billing requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform coding functions for multiple specialty areas.
  • Verify and post charges according to coding principles.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of medical record documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with medical terminology, coding, billing practices, reimbursement practices, and clinic policies and procedures.
  • Familiarize yourself with EMR processes and workflows.

Requirements:

  • An Associate's Degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Business Services, or an equivalent program with emphasis in coding, or a minimum of two years' experience in coding.
  • Experience or certification in a specialty area is beneficial.
  • Certification in coding by a recognized professional organization is required within 18 months of date of hire.
