Qualifications Required

  • A four-year degree in Dietetics or a related field, with a preference for two years of experience in community or clinical nutrition education or completion of a dietetic internship with RD/RDN credentials.
  • Current registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nutrition care process to conduct thorough assessments of patients' nutritional needs, recommend suitable nutrition therapy interventions, and document care plans in the electronic health record.
  • Provide nutrition education and health promotion to clients and support staff across various programs, implementing preventative strategies.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate relevant patient information among the care team to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Evaluate and educate patients regarding nutrition-related medications, dietary supplements, and drug-nutrient interactions.
  • Develop, create, and review educational materials related to nutrition and preventive health promotion in accordance with established care standards.
  • Educate staff within the Health Education department on nutrition guidelines.
  • Refer patients to appropriate interprofessional team members and resources as necessary.
  • Assist in the preparation of required reports and conduct quality assurance in line with federal regulations.
  • Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Foster relationships with external healthcare organizations to identify additional resources.
  • Collaborate with the Health Education team on data collection, health outcomes reporting, clinical audits, and program evaluations.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of clinical care and resource utilization, and the development of new clinical tools and procedures.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through training and conferences.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
