Job Summary

The University of Maryland Medical System seeks a highly skilled and experienced Security Manager to lead the Security Department and provide a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety and security programs to reduce risk to patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations and workflows of the Security Department.
  • Develop, review, and update policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with hospital leaders and local law enforcement to foster collaborative relationships.
  • Support the organization's mission, vision, and values through leadership and coaching.

Requirements

  • Four to six years of experience as a supervisory security officer or law enforcement.
  • Previous management experience required.
  • Experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Life Safety and Joint Commission of Healthcare Accreditation.
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) Workplace Violence training/certification.
  • International Association of Healthcare Security Services (IAHSS) Basic Course training/certification.
  • IAHSS Workplace Violence Prevention Program Certification.
