About the Role:The VDC Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities of VDC Coordinators, VDC Engineers, and VDC Project Engineers, providing performance feedback to Operations Staff and VDC Regional Manager. This role involves visiting job sites to troubleshoot BIM issues, establishing BIM standards for quality, and monitoring adherence through expertise and direction provided on job sites, at BIM coordination meetings, etc.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee VDC Coordinators, VDC Engineers, and VDC Project Engineers
- Visit job sites to troubleshoot BIM issues
- Establish BIM standards for quality
- Monitor adherence to BIM standards
- Provide expertise to the business unit
- Advising Project Leadership on staffing and related issues
- Conduct workshops and training on BIM
- Develop and maintain relationships with engineers, design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and owner's representatives
- Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of twelve (12) years' construction experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
- Thorough knowledge of construction BIM tools and applications
- Proven written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite
- Utilizes leading-edge technologies such as BIM and LEAN
- Demonstrated ability to present technical material
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
The performance of the required duties will require physical ability to occasionally climb permanent and temporary stairs, climb ladders, negotiate work areas under construction, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally requires passenger use of construction personnel hoists.
Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee works on-site at the construction worksite where the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in this work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
