Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct engineering work on projects of small to medium sizes
  • Responsible for budget, schedule, and quality standards
  • Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments with full technical responsibility
  • Act independently on technical matters pertaining to civil/environmental engineering field
  • Develop new or improved techniques or procedures to create new or refined equipment, material, processes, or methods
  • Assist in proposal preparation and interviews, and may be included in contract negotiations with clients after selection
  • Develop relationships with existing clients and have responsibility for client maintenance at staff level on existing projects
  • Work closely with subconsultants on projects
  • Active in professional associations, including attendance and participation in local, regional, and national conventions
  • Travel required when requested
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
  • 10-15 years of wastewater design experience in the field of environmental consulting engineering with an emphasis in hydraulics, physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes and treatment plant design
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer
  • Demonstrated experience with managing and designing medium-sized projects with full responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards
  • Experience designing wastewater treatment plants, including development of conceptual/preliminary designs and detailed design document preparation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
  • Deliver high-quality services within budget and schedule constraints
  • Experience working with wastewater collection systems and water and reclaimed water transmission/distribution projects
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
