About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at The RMR Group. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the physical integrity of our properties and providing a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for our residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of the property, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on all equipment, inspect and maintain tools in excellent condition, and diagnose and perform minor or routine maintenance or repair as directed.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as all state and federal regulations, including Lead Based Paint, ADA, Fair Housing, HAZCOM Program, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
  • Be knowledgeable of all pertinent laws and regulations, and take immediate steps to correct any unsafe condition.
  • Assist in making-ready repairs and services, and report all major repairs and need requisitions to the Maintenance Supervisor prior to any expenditure of funds.
  • Change locks, rekey locks, and make keys as needed.
  • Remove and transfer heavy appliances and equipment from storage to apartment or vice versa, and assist in moving abandoned furniture, appliances, etc. to the dumpster when necessary.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2+ years' experience in maintenance property management.
  • EPA Universal Certification Required.
  • CPO Certification Preferred.
  • Ability to earn future designations as required by Industry standards, EPA regulations, OSHA requirements, etc.
  • Must possess solid knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc. information as required by daily operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Must be team-oriented and a problem solver.
  • Maintain professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • May be required to work extended periods of time without relief, when responding to priority/emergency situations.
  • Stooping, standing, climbing, and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pump, tools, ladders) and ability to safely install rigging/lifting device.
  • Lift and carry objects of up to 50 lbs. for distances of up to 30 feet.
  • Climb ladders and stairs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
