Job Summary: OI Infusion is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Infusion Nurse Specialist to join our team at Hunterdon Neurology. As a cornerstone of our infusion suite, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our in-office infusion centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infusion Therapy: Perform infusion therapy as directed by physician orders, establishing intravenous access per policy and procedure.
- Patient Care: Observe, assess, and document symptoms via nurse's note in a timely manner, monitor reactions and patient progress, and educate patients and/or caregivers on disease process and medications.
- Infection Control: Demonstrate proper infection control techniques and follow universal precautions to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Administrative Tasks: Schedule follow-up appointments, notify physicians and other personnel of changes in patient condition, and update clinical records according to policy and procedures.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest knowledge and skills by attending in-service programs, continuing education programs, seminars, and self-study programs annually.
Requirements:
- Education: Registered nurse (R.N.) with a current license within the state.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of Infusion/IV experience as an R.N.
- Skills: Ability to work positively and favorably with patients, families, and staff, and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
