As an MRI Technologist, your primary responsibility will be to utilize magnetic resonance imaging technology to produce high-quality images for medical evaluation. You will also be tasked with preparing and caring for patients undergoing MRI procedures.
Key Responsibilities
As an MRI Technologist, you will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Verify patient identity, assess imaging requests, and clearly explain imaging processes to patients, providing necessary reassurance and support.
- Conduct safety screenings for patients prior to MRI procedures.
- Accurately interpret written instructions from physicians.
- Position patients appropriately for MRI scans, using immobilization and protective gear to adhere to safety regulations.
- Assist radiologists during the performance of procedures.
- Initiate intravenous lines and administer contrast media as directed.
- Evaluate the technical quality of MRI scans, organize processed images, and label them correctly.
- Operate power injectors for the administration of contrast media.
- Adhere to safety protocols when working with radiation.
- Maintain precise patient records.
- Utilize the McKesson PACS system effectively.
Applicants must have at least 1 year of experience in the field. Required certifications include BLS, ARRT National certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging, and any necessary state-specific licenses.
MRI Technologists should be capable of standing and walking for extended periods, as well as bending, leaning, or stooping without difficulty. A solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology is essential.
Essential Requirements: ARRT (MR), BLS, 1 Year
* Additional certifications may be required prior to commencing an assignment.
