Family Medicine Residency Program Director

Penn Medicine Medical Group and Chester County Hospital seek an experienced leader to establish and lead a residency program in Family Medicine. The ideal candidate will have three or more years of experience in an administrative leadership position or with medical education, preferably within a residency program. This position will involve both clinical effort and administrative/educational responsibilities. As the program grows, the amount of non-clinical time will increase, allowing for a balance between clinical and administrative duties.
The program director will be responsible for ensuring that the educational content and administrative policies of the program comply with the requirements for training in Family Medicine as defined by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). This includes overseeing the program's curriculum, evaluating resident performance, and implementing policies to ensure compliance with ACGME standards.
The program director will report to both the Chester County Hospital Chief Medical Officer and the chair of the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Perelman School of Medicine. This will enable the program director to address both regional community needs and resident educational needs. The program director will supervise the work of the program coordinator and an assistant program director to assist in the organization and operation of the program rotations and accreditation.
The program director will lead recruitment and selection activities, with a goal of matching six residents each year via the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). The program director will be responsible for overseeing all clinical rotations, ensuring that evaluations of clinical trainees are completed, and providing twice-annual progress reports to each trainee. The program director will also ensure that Penn Medicine policies for graduate medical education are implemented within the training program.
