Position Overview

The Logistics Management Institute is in search of a Lead Application Testing Specialist who possesses a wealth of experience in collaborating with intricate and diverse teams. The Lead Application Testing Specialist will oversee pre-release and System Integration Testing (SIT) for our clients, working closely with both government program managers and contractor project leads to establish testing expectations, timelines, and acceptance criteria.

This position requires meticulous documentation, including notes, backlogs, defect tracking, enhancement requests, and plans for continuous improvement to ensure that test findings are addressed and resolved. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, essential for effective collaboration with various teams. Proficiency in project scheduling and IT tracking tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, VersionOne, and ALM is necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the SIT testing schedule, resource allocation, and execution of testing procedures.
  • Formulate and uphold a testing strategy aligned with stakeholder objectives.
  • Identify critical testing scopes and criteria for evaluation.
  • Delegate responsibilities to team members based on their expertise and skills.
  • Validate test scripts, system functionalities, and anticipated outcomes of testing events.
  • Incorporate business requirements and potential defects into testing scenarios while documenting enhancement requests throughout the process.
  • Establish and maintain a defect tracking system to ensure intended functionalities are achieved.
  • Assess performance and provide project status updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate testing timelines with internal departments and external partners.
  • Identify and communicate potential delays or risks in the testing schedule; propose solutions to mitigate these issues.
  • Engage in design meetings to grasp application requirements and design objectives.
  • Deliver written and verbal impact analyses of timeline modifications and associated risks.
  • Generate and report testing performance metrics using appropriate tracking software.
  • Facilitate team meetings to address and resolve issues.
  • Review test scenarios prepared by the testing team.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance testing processes and tools utilized.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.
  • Ensure adherence to testing policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with external acceptance testing activities.
  • Guarantee that all testing deliverables are met.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in application lifecycle testing, development, or IT management, along with a Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Comprehensive understanding of End to End testing within the SIT environment.
  • Experience in creating and managing test scripts, as well as defect and enhancement tracking.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adept at identifying and resolving complex problems effectively.
  • Ability to tailor communications to suit specific audiences, ensuring appropriate content is conveyed at various organizational levels.
  • Experience working with multi-vendor teams.
  • A collaborative team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation.
