Job Title: CT Technologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team at Summa Health System - Akron Campus - SA. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating computed tomography scanners to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review radiology requisitions and physician orders to ensure proper procedures are performed.
  • Instruct patients regarding procedures and preps, positioning patients and, if necessary, restraining mobility through the use of immobilization devices.
  • Determine and adjust exposure factors; operate equipment according to established procedures to obtain diagnostic C.T. procedures and radiographs.
  • Clean and organize work area to ensure proper supplies required for procedures are available.
  • Process and review quality of images, and report any need for equipment adjustment or repair.
  • Ensure that safety devices such as shielding, lead aprons, and gloves are used properly during procedures.
  • Continuously update knowledge and skills through membership and participation in professional associations.
  • Assist with on-the-job instruction of radiology students and orienting new technologists.
  • Perform venous punctures for injection of contrast media, and monitor patients for reactions and/or


Communicate wet/stat reading results to physician offices and discuss results with patients when requested. Exhibit manual dexterity sufficient to calibrate and operate equipment, properly position patients, apply and adjust restraining devices, and administer intravenous injections of contrast. Communicate verbally with patients, physicians, and other hospital employees effectively. Lift and position patients as needed. Utilize computer systems and file systems to facilitate patient records.


Initiate CPR when necessary and maintain CPR. Interact effectively with populations of patients/customers, understanding their needs for self-respect and dignity.
