Position Overview
Delivers surgical assistance in the operating theater along with various medical services under the supervision of the lead surgeon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts comprehensive health assessments, physical examinations, and both individual and group health education sessions. - 20%
  • Requests diagnostic laboratory and imaging tests, including specialized evaluations such as CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and contrast studies with physician consent. - 20%
  • Analyzes physical findings, laboratory results, and imaging studies, establishes diagnoses, and develops and implements treatment plans, prescribing medications in compliance with state regulations. - 20%
  • Refers complex cases to the supervising physician when patient conditions surpass the Physician Assistant's scope of practice or training. - 20%
  • Provides urgent care to avert the risk of loss of life, limb, or eyesight. Initiates emergency protocols in line with training level. - 10%
  • Enhances clinic operations by engaging in policy formulation, operational enhancements, and the execution of policies and improvements. - 10%
Essential Qualifications
  • Education - Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program recognized by a reputable medical authority.
  • Experience - No prior experience necessary.
Licensure Requirements
  • Current NCCPA certification and Physician Assistant licensure in South Carolina.
  • BLS certification.
Additional Skills/Knowledge - Familiarity with a broad spectrum of medical conditions, diseases, and injuries; strong communication abilities.
