Position Overview
The Finance Department at The Ladders is evolving rapidly, and we are looking for a Senior Accountant to enhance our financial processes and strategic planning capabilities. This role is crucial in helping us navigate our growth trajectory and ensuring our financial operations are robust and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the VP of Finance to streamline the existing accounting team and enhance their functional ownership.
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, conducting regular one-on-one meetings to foster development.
- Address daily bookkeeping challenges and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Drive the monthly closing process, including refining procedures and preparing necessary documentation.
- Provide detailed budget versus actual reports to department leaders.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, identifying discrepancies and proposing solutions.
- Evaluate current accounting systems and recommend improvements.
- Participate in the selection and implementation of advanced accounting software and reporting tools.
- Oversee compliance with sales tax regulations and partner commission structures.
- Timely delivery of month-end close reports and efficient finalization of financial statements.
- Team members effectively managing their respective responsibilities.
- Seamless transition to an upgraded accounting software system.
- Establishment of a strong reputation for the Finance department as a collaborative partner across the organization.
- 5-7 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably in the SaaS or FinTech sectors, with CPA certification being a plus.
- Proficient in advanced Excel, capable of analyzing extensive data sets.
- Experience managing direct reports and a passion for mentoring others.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online or NetSuite; experience with Salesforce is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Detail-oriented mindset focused on user-friendly and value-added processes.
- Adept at identifying scalable solutions to complex challenges.
- Experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
