Job Summary

The Range Safety Officer is a critical role at Frontier Justice, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all clients and staff on the range. This position requires extensive knowledge of firearms operations and the ability to provide assistance to shooters as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor all activity on the shooting lanes to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment, adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and technical support to clients on the range and in retail.
  • Develop and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.

Operational Excellence

  • Adhere strictly to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) at all times.
  • Evaluate conditions on the range and make adjustments as necessary to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Teach customers how to operate lanes and targets safely and effectively.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure all staff are trained and aware of their roles.
  • Report daily to the Store Manager on any operational issues that require attention.

Relationships

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all staff members to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with key resources, including external vendors and trainers.

Essential Functions/Key Competencies

  • Be certified as a Range Safety Officer and have extensive knowledge of firearms operations.
  • Be able to teach and educate shooters of all levels.
  • Be able to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Be skilled in CPR and First Aid.
  • Be able to safely take a firearm from a shooter.
  • Have effective communication skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required, with college hours preferred.
  • RSO certification required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in firearms education and/or range safety officer duties preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Normal overtime/extended work hours.
  • Ability to physically audit and inspect all operations.
  • Must be age 21 or older.

Salary Description

$15-$16 per hour.
