We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Psychiatric Nurse Externship Program participant at New Bridge Medical Center. As a key member of our nursing team, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient care with a focus on patient growth and development, tailored to the needs of our diverse patient population.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including skin care, ambulation, and meal assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Obtain and record patient specimens, such as urine, stool, and sputum, as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in unit searches, patient management, and infection control initiatives to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Assist with patient transportation, therapeutic activities, and unit rounds as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; nursing education or experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
