Compensation:

Certified Educator: Starting at $62,000

Non-Certified Educator: Starting at $54,000

*The certified educator starting salary includes a $5,000 hiring incentive for certified science educators and a $3,000 bonus for late hires.

Primary Objective:

Facilitate engaging learning experiences and activities in the designated academic subject area to assist students in reaching their full potential across intellectual, emotional, physical, and social dimensions. Empower students to cultivate the necessary skills and competencies to thrive in society.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Valid teaching certification in Texas with necessary endorsements or training for the assigned subject and level is preferred.

Proven proficiency in the designated academic subject area.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

In-depth knowledge of the assigned core academic subject.

Understanding of curriculum design and instructional methodologies.

Ability to effectively instruct students and manage classroom behavior.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

Experience: One year of student teaching or an approved internship is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Strategies:

1. Design and execute lesson plans that meet district curriculum requirements, providing documented evidence of preparation as necessary. Create lessons that accommodate individual student differences.

2. Plan and utilize suitable instructional strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect an understanding of students' learning styles and needs, adhering to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency and district policies.

3. Assess student learning styles and use the results to inform instructional planning.

4. Collaborate with special education staff to adapt curricula for students with special needs according to Individual Education Plans (IEP).

5. Work alongside colleagues to establish instructional goals, objectives, and methods in accordance with district requirements.

6. Delegate tasks to instructional aides and volunteers, overseeing their completion.

Student Development:

7. Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress through both formal and informal evaluations.

8. Take on responsibilities for extracurricular activities as assigned, sponsoring approved outside activities.

9. Serve as a positive role model for students, supporting the mission of the educational institution.

Classroom Management:

10. Establish a classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.

11. Manage student behavior in alignment with the Student Code of Conduct.

12. Ensure the safety of students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

13. Assist in the selection of instructional materials and resources.

14. Maintain and organize all required reports, records, and documentation.

Communication:

15. Foster and maintain professional relationships and open lines of communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.

Professional Development:

16. Engage in staff development opportunities to enhance job-related skills.

17. Adhere to state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom educators.
