Tax Project Manager Job Description

NextEra Energy, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Tax Project Manager to join our team. As a Tax Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing tax-related projects, including system maintenance and development, preparing and reviewing tax returns and corresponding tax work papers and files, researching law, regulations, and administrative rulings, and presenting proposals to minimize tax liability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage tax-related projects, including system maintenance and development
  • Prepare and review tax returns and corresponding tax work papers and files
  • Research law, regulations, and administrative rulings
  • Present proposals to minimize tax liability
  • Lead project teams to improve quality, efficiency, predictability, and transparency
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive tax experience
  • Strong understanding of depreciation, including short year, placed in service, conventions, ADS lives, and allocation of depreciation
  • Experience with multi-tiered partnership structures and partnership special allocations
  • Analytical and solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency with software and system applications, including OneSource Tax Provision, CorpTax, and Microsoft Office 365
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
