Job Summary

The Senior GL Accountant will play a key leadership role in our accounting team, guiding personnel in daily tasks and communicating financial strategies to company executives. Key responsibilities include preparing accurate financial documents, reviewing financial data, and conducting account reconciliations.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare accurate financial information in a timely manner, utilizing input from the finance team.
  2. E nsure the integrity of accounting information by verifying, allocating, posting, and entering transactions.
  3. Prepare error-free accounting reports and their results.
  4. Conduct regular account reconciliations on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  5. Reconcile bank statements daily.
  6. Reconcile credit card statement biweekly.
  7. Reconcile payroll monthly.
  8. Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and issues.
  9. Identify accounting errors and take corrective actions.
  10. Analyze and reconcile inter-company transactions weekly.
  11. Review accounting systems and suggest improvements.
  12. Guide the financial transactions (AP/AR) team in using the right GL codes.
  13. Maintain the month-end and year-end closing process.
  14. Manage and maintain general ledgers.
  15. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  16. Develop financial procedures to improve efficiency.
  17. Prepare and summarize transaction reports and financial status, including balance sheets, profit & loss, and cash flow statements.
  18. Present financial reports to higher management and accountants.
  19. Coordinate external audit activities.
Requirements

To succeed as our Senior GL Accountant, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar role, including 3 years of exemplary experience in public accounting firms.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Practical knowledge of Financial Reporting and advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven experience in monthly closing activities and financial reporting.
  • Ability to conduct and present meetings/presentations with business units, top management, and other finance unit leaders.
  • Prepare, review, and approve complex journal entries, consolidated statements, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
