We are seeking a skilled and compassionate LPN to join our team at King's Daughters. As a key member of our medical office staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the efficiency of our physicians and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Visit Preparation: Ensure patients are prepared for physician and/or APRN visits by obtaining vital signs, chief complaint, past medical history, medication history, and updates, as well as addressing best practice alerts.
- Patient Care: Provide basic patient care as ordered, including administering medications, monitoring treatment progress, and documenting patient responses.
- Documentation and Communication: Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and treatment outcomes, and effectively communicate with patients and other care team members.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications, utilizing organization-wide safe medication practices, including barcode scanning and other medication safety processes.
- Registration and Customer Service: Manage nursing in-basket responsibilities, perform registration duties, and provide exceptional customer service to patients and families.
- Education and Support: Provide teaching and educational materials to patients and families, as needed, and document patient understanding.
- Education and Licensure: Graduate from an accredited school of Practical Nursing, maintain active LPN license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky (or other eNLC state with multistate privileges), and achieve and maintain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: One year LPN experience.
Our medical office is a fast-paced environment with constant exposure to blood and/or body fluids and infection. You will be required to work near moving mechanical parts, occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of radiation. The noise level is usually moderate.
Physical Demands- Occasionally required to maintain a stationary position (standing or sitting).
- Frequently required to walk and move about, operate a computer and other equipment, and use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices.
- Constantly required to lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds.
- Constantly required to communicate with patients and other care team members, requiring talking and hearing.
