Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Specialist to join our team at General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems. As an Assembly Specialist, you will be responsible for assembling components into sub-assemblies and performing final assembly of Aircraft and Crew-served weapons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Final Assembly: Assemble components into sub-assemblies and perform final assembly of Aircraft and Crew-served weapons.
  • Maintenance and Setup: Maintain, set up, and operate a variety of equipment such as arbor and hydraulic straightening presses, paint, and other machinery.
  • Quality Control: Ensure appropriate interchange of sub-assembly components through a constant awareness of required tolerance and fit of mating parts.
  • Tool Operation: Use precision functional gages, alignment and work holding fixtures, pneumatic tools, drill presses, riveters, and other equipment.
  • Fitting and Rework: Perform fitting and rework tasks such as grinding, filling, drilling, and other operations.
  • Physical Demands: Must have physical ability to lift, move, adjust, and other tasks involving items weighing approximately 35 lbs. on a production basis.

Requirements
  • Assembly Test: Must pass an Assembly on-site test using blueprints and be mechanically skilled.
  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Computer Skills: Employee must have basic computer skills and may be required to enter and verify information into written forms or database(s) as appropriate.
  • Experience: Average 18 months, including over 1 year through 2 years.
