Position Overview:
The Quality Management (QM) Consultant is tasked with overseeing quality management initiatives within the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and its associated facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
The QM Consultant is responsible for gathering data, assessing staff adherence to applicable policies and standards, and generating reports that highlight trends. This role provides essential support to various services in the planning, design, integration, implementation, modification, and administration of a comprehensive High Reliability Organization (HRO) program.
Specific Duties Include:
- Delivering HRO program management to ensure alignment with high reliability objectives.
- Acting as the subject matter expert on HRO missions and goals.
- Facilitating HRO Baseline Training and Clinical Team Training.
- Coaching and training personnel at all organizational levels on high reliability principles.
- Managing a portfolio of projects independently while addressing information requests from all organizational tiers, including senior management.
The consultant will also identify necessary information and analyses to manage critical operational aspects, design information sources, and develop reports and analytical studies. They will create systems to oversee critical informatics and analytics functions and collaborate with quality and safety leadership to integrate best practices aimed at enhancing patient care.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Overseeing data management for the Health Care System (HCS), including collection, reporting, and analysis to support the high reliability journey.
- Conducting analytical studies on operational processes and special projects.
- Monitoring milestones for the execution of organizational plans, particularly those involving personnel and equipment relocation.
- Supporting new initiatives that prioritize Veterans in all processes and improvements.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a current, unrestricted nursing license from any U.S. state or territory. A comprehensive understanding of healthcare delivery systems, performance improvement, and healthcare accreditation is essential. The role requires excellent communication skills to convey complex clinical and non-clinical information effectively.
Compensation and Benefits:
The position offers a competitive salary, regular salary increases, and potential performance awards. Benefits include 50 days of paid time off annually, a traditional federal pension, and comprehensive health insurance options.
Work Schedule:
This position typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule, with potential for flexible hours and telework at the discretion of management.
