Meat Department Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Meat/Seafood Clerk to join our team at IGA Southeast. As a key member of our meat and seafood department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and achieving sales goals.

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and making recommendations on meat and seafood products.
• Prepare and display meat and seafood products in a visually appealing manner, ensuring high-quality presentation and freshness.
• Assist with receiving, inventory, and storage of meat and seafood products, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Price, stock, and rotate frozen items, prepared meats, and fresh meat/seafood in sales areas, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards in all areas, including coolers, freezers, and sales floor, ensuring a clean and healthy environment for customers and employees.
• Communicate with management regarding shrink issues, customer requests, and concerns, providing timely and effective solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management, including making PA announcements for sales and promotional items.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well with others and provide exceptional customer service.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds constantly, with the ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a cold environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
