Job Summary:

As a Pediatric Occupational Therapy Specialist with the Dallas Independent School District, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic intervention for disabled students to determine student eligibility for therapy services. Your expertise will be essential in assessing and evaluating students to develop educationally relevant goals that integrate into their educational programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine student eligibility for therapy services
Develop and implement therapeutic intervention plans that align with student needs and educational goals
Communicate with parents, educational staff, and students to ensure effective collaboration and progress
Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy services provided
Collaborate with other professionals and paraprofessionals to implement occupational therapy intervention procedures
Provide consultation to the educational system regarding student needs, professional needs, and system needs

Requirements:

Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited institution
Valid Texas license as an Occupational Therapist granted by the Executive Council of Occupational Therapy Examiners
Knowledge of assessment procedures, therapeutic activities, and equipment used in pediatric Occupational Therapy, school-based practice
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
