Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our 27-bed Emergency Department, designated as a Level 4 Trauma Center. As a member of our team, you will assess, implement, and evaluate total nursing care, working collaboratively with other shifts and departments to ensure optimal continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' needs and develop individualized care plans
- Implement and evaluate nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions
- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to entry-level nurses
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- One year of experience in nursing, preferably in an emergency department setting
- Current Texas State RN License or Compact RN License
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS required at time of hire for experienced RNs; new graduates must obtain ACLS by the end of the clinical orientation period
- PALS required at time of hire for experienced RNs; new graduates must obtain PALS by the end of the clinical orientation period
- Crisis intervention training required within 12 months of hire/transfer date
- For trauma-designated facilities, TNCC required within 6 weeks of hire for experienced RNs; new graduates must obtain TNCC within 18 months of hire/transfer date
