We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Psychologist to join our team at Marquette-Alger RESA. As a key member of our mental health services department, you will play a critical role in supporting the social, emotional, and educational needs of students.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine special education eligibility and develop individualized programs for students with unique educational needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to provide individual and group counseling, as well as Positive Behavior Support programs and services.
- Develop and implement Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) programs to promote student success and well-being.
- Provide crisis intervention support and develop Functional Behavior assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Lead and support the implementation of special education services, including IEP development and implementation.
- Assist schools in developing strategies to ensure student success and provide information on state and federal initiatives and legislation.
- Approval by the Michigan Department of Education as a School Psychologist and licensed, as required, by the State of Michigan.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with school district staff and students.
- Ability to independently problem-solve, schedule daily activities, and model good communication.
- Comprehensive knowledge of MTSS and experience working within a consultative and service delivery model.
- Proven ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary model and demonstrate success in working with diverse populations.
This is a full-time position that requires regular and reliable job attendance, performance, and the physical ability to do the job. The position involves travel to local school districts in Marquette and Alger counties, as well as possible assignments within other counties in the Upper Peninsula.
