Job Title: Braveheart Peer Navigator

At The Children's Village, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Braveheart Peer Navigator to join our team. The successful candidate will provide support services to youth within the target population of child welfare impact, utilizing their lived and learned experience to nurture, develop, and facilitate the activities of the Orange County Bravehearts movement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual mentoring sessions with youth participants, facilitating their growth and empowerment.
  • Coordinate group empowerment sessions, promoting a sense of community and shared purpose.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with family and professional partners, ensuring a collaborative approach to supporting youth.
  • Coordinate weekend respite activities, providing a safe and supportive environment for youth to relax and recharge.
  • Support the inclusion of authentic youth voice, amplifying their perspectives and concerns.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a GED or high school diploma and personal experience with the child welfare and/or mental health system.
  • Valid NYS Driver's license and reliable access to an insured vehicle.
  • Basic understanding and computer literacy skills with Microsoft office.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent oral communication skills.
  • Experience in fostering community partnerships and promoting cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently, with a commitment to self-care and healing-based practices.
