Battery cells are the backbone of every Tesla product, and our team is responsible for developing cutting-edge materials to power them. As a Staff Cell Materials Engineer, you will lead the development, testing, and validation of binders and polymer additives for Tesla's Li-ion cells.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement new materials and processes to improve cell performance and efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate materials into cell design and manufacturing
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data to optimize material properties and performance
  • Communicate technical results and recommendations to internal stakeholders and external partners
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Strong understanding of materials science, electrochemistry, and Li-ion cell design and manufacturing
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects
