Key Responsibilities- Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in all jurisdictions where Acuity Brands operates.
- Partner with the HR teams and legal to address compliance gaps and mitigate risks.
- Develop, deliver, and partner on training programs and communication initiatives to enhance awareness of HR compliance requirements amongst employees and managers globally.
- Ensure that trainings and communications are tailored to regional nuances and languages as necessary.
- Participate on the HR Governance Committee and partner on regular audits.
- Monitor HR compliance activities to assess HR compliance effectiveness and identify areas of opportunity and implement any corrective actions necessary.
- Partner with HR, Legal, IT, Finance, and other departments to address cross-functional compliance issues and initiatives to create a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on HR compliance activities, trends, and risks.
- Anticipate future compliance challenges and emerging trends.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations across different regions, including Americas, Mexico, Canada, and Europe.
- The ability to navigate and understand the nuances of HR compliance requirements internationally, including cultural awareness, sensitivity to regional differences, and the ability to tailor compliance strategies accordingly.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams, including the capacity to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner to various audiences in presentations, written reports, and executive summaries.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience (12 or more years)
- Preferred Education: Human Resources, JD, or legal studies
- Preferred Experience: Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) or Compliance (e.g., CCEP)
