About the Position

We are seeking a qualified Long-Term Care RN to join our team at TravelNurseSource. As a Long-Term Care RN, you will provide general nursing care to residents and contribute to overall resident care.

Responsibilities:

  • Make nursing assessments regarding the health status of the residents.
  • Develop a plan of care based on assessment and nursing diagnosis; implement nursing care; and evaluate responses to nursing interventions.
  • Make provisions for outside physician visits to ensure residents' medical needs are met.
  • Demonstrate effective communication with physician and family members to ensure resident needs are met.
  • Perform teaching to residents, families and staff to ensure understanding of the residents' plan of care.
  • Understand, promote and implement the choices philosophy and resident rights.
  • Prepare, administer and chart routine and emergency medication and treatment as ordered.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of medications and their side effects.
  • Ensure clinical record reflects accurate and timely documentation to ensure continuity and quality of resident care.
  • Perform safety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.
  • As a member of the interdisciplinary team, participate in Quality Management program to ensure appropriate standards of care are met within the facility.
  • Function as the primary contact person on assigned shift.
  • Effectively supervise resident assistants to ensure compliance with plan of care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, skills and ability in IV therapy to include initiating IV's, administration of initial medication, management of central line and catheters.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in Long-Term Care
  • General Certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, NRP
  • Telecommunication Nursing Certifications: CPI, ENPC, RNFA, TNCC, AWHONN, NIHSS, STABLE, ASLS, NBSTSA, APHON, CMA, CCMA, RMA, C-EFM, EXPTEMP
